Fender and the Stratocaster Electric Guitar

By Raymond Cunningham

Fender Guitars and its founder, Leo Fender, created its full solid body electric guitar in 1951, and they say the rest is rock and roll history. One of Fender's flagship guitar models, the Fender Stratocaster guitar, was introduced in 1954; it has since remained the most popular electric guitar produced by Fender. The Fender Stratocaster guitar has also built up a standing in the hearts of guitar players everywhere as one of the need to own guitars for anyone playing any types of chords, from jazz, classical, and heavy metal rock and roll.

Who is known for playing a Fender Stratocaster almost religiously? The guitar legend from Pink Floyd, none other than David Gilmore, played the Fender Stratocaster, and in 2006 was even awarded as Fender's Greatest Guitar Player. Other famous Fender Stratocaster guitar players include Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rory Gallagher, Robert Cray and several others. Fender strives for quality in all their guitars, and the Fender Stratocaster is something Fender takes pride in producing.
